Van Cortlandt Golf Course, North Bronx

It is the oldest public golf course in the US. The course, which is known as Vanny to its regulars, is just a subway ride from Manhattan. New York’s great golfers go to relax at the course. 

Piping Rock Club, Locust Valley

The course is less than hour’s drive outside of New York City. The club is private with a strict dress code and deep roots to Americana. Among the most famous golfers to play here are Jackie Onassis and Cole Porter.

It is among the most difficult course in all of America. It is also among the places where foursomes have to go for campouts overnight. 

The Saint Andrew’s Golf Club, Hastings-on-Hudson

Doral Arrowwood

It is considered to be among the most challenging nine-hole courses in the US. The facilities available include a driving range, professional putting green, and a practice bunker. 

Dunwoodie

Trump National Golf Club Westchester

It is known to be among the most challenging courses in the country. It is also among the most picturesque, with a beautiful man-made waterfall.

Neshanic Valley Golf Course

The course has three sets of nine holes, all of which are par 36. Non-residents can only book one week in advance. Getting a spot in the course is quite difficult. 

Pound Ridge

If you succeed making birdies here, you can do it anywhere. It is yet another Pete Dye course, which is designed to be as difficult as most of his other works. 

Ballyowen

It is the flagship course at the Crystal Springs Resort. At this course, you will get to enjoy a bit of Scotland without having to board a plane. 

Trump Golf Links Ferry Point

The course is only 12.5 miles away from Midtown, Ferry point. It offers a mind-blowing view of the Whitestone Bridge and Manhattan. One of the best –Jack Nicklaus designed it. 

Ironwood

The course has no weak holes. It is one of the best courses anywhere in Cowslesville. 

Glen Oak

The course received a few upgrades back in 2000 to make it one of the top courses in New York. This fine, flat farmland course, is a great place to unwind during the weekend. 

Byrncliff

It is amongst the nicest and most challenging course set in the woods anywhere in NY. The course is renowned for its par 5 holes, most of which are reachable on a good day

Greystone 

If you ever visit the Rochester area of NY, you should consider making the trip to this course. The public golf, which opened in 1995, has been a golfer’s paradise since then. 

Hiawatha Landing 

This links-style course is found on the banks of the Susquehanna River. Those who have played here say it is one of the state’s best-kept golfing secrets. 

Leatherstocking 

This 18-hole championship course found in Cooperstown, NY, is one of the finest public courses in the state. It is quite challenging to golfers of all levels. Devereux Emmet designed the course in I909.
