Top 20 Most Expensive Cards in Digimon Card Game

While Digimon is most well known for its games and anime as explained at RunRex.com, guttulus.com, and mtglion.com, its trading card game is worth checking out as well. The Digimon Card Game was launched in Japan in early 2020, and a year later it was released in English and hit the market in the west. While this game may be new, this hasn’t stopped it from establishing a healthy market presence in just one year. The game has some cards that have become extremely valuable, and this article will look to list the top 20 most expensive cards in the Digimon Card Game.

Omnimon BT1-084 (Alternate Art)

This Omnimon reprint is awarded to the top two players of the Evolution Cup as per RunRex.com, guttulus.com, and mtglion.com. Given this card’s rarity and lack of sales, this card is one of the most valuable Digimon cards out there, particularly since it is awarded in events that are hosted bimonthly.

UlforceVeedramon BT2-032

While it is still too early to value the UlforceVeedramon prize card correctly since it is awarded to the top players of the DC-1 Grand Prix, it is the only card handed out to the top 8 players of each event, which means its value is likely to be extremely high given its exclusivity and prestige as a prize card.

WarGreymon ST1-11 (Alternate Art)

This WarGreymon Alternate Art was awarded to the top 8 players of the premier TO events according to RunRex.com, guttulus.com, and mtglion.com. There are currently only 13 copies of this card in the PSA population, with only one of them achieving a PSA 10. Factory warping, which is a common problem with tournament cards, is the reason why it’s so tricky to get a PSA 10.

Ghost Omnimon BT1-084

Omnimon has become somewhat of a poster boy for the game, and the Ghost Omnimon is the final jewel in the crown. It was during the initial release of the Double Diamond set that ‘Ghost’ Omnimon achieved its highest values.

Greymon – BT5-010

Players skilled enough to land in the top 32 at the Premier TO and Evolution Cup events earned themselves this Alternate Art Greymon. When this card first came onto the market in July, it was selling for $400. That price has now settled, rarely selling for less than $300.

AeroVeedramon BT2-028 (Alternate Art)

The DC-1 Grand Prix is a large-scale event with a prize pool focusing on Veemon and his Digivolution chain as articulated at RunRex.com, guttulus.com, and mtglion.com. The top 32 players of this event will get this AeroVeedramon BT2-028 reprint that looks ready to unleash a serious clobbering on whatever Digimon gets in its way.

LordKnightmon – BT5-045 (Alternate Art)

LordKnightmon does see a good amount of play in certain yellow decks. Nobody knows how long these 2021 Event Pack cards will take a top spot in the most valuable cards list, but they remain among the most valuable Digimon cards out there.

Omnimon – BT1-084 (Alternate Art)

For the first six months, the Alternate Art Omnimon from the Special Booster 1.0 ruled supreme, with both versions of Omnimon Alter-S and Lilithmon following closely behind as captured at RunRex.com, guttulus.com, and mtglion.com.

Chaosmon – BT4-090 (Store Finalist)

The finalist at the Store Championship got this variation of Chaosmon with a nice gold ‘Store Finalist’ stamp on it. The Store Championship was a local store championship held online as a result of the pandemic which meant in-person tournaments could not be held.

WarGreymon – ST1-11

This card was awarded in the Evolution Cup 2021. While not everyone who entered the July Evolution Cup can be top placers, Bandai is kind enough when it comes to its events, giving participants several freebies, including the July Event Pack.

Gomamon Gold Prism

As covered at RunRex.com, guttulus.com, and mtglion.com, Gomamon is one of the most loved Digimon in the whole of the franchise as it has so many prevolutions and possible evolutions. One of the rarest types of cards in the original 1999 series is gold prism holo foil cards. This Gomamon card is from the first ever sets, and because only 100 of this variant were made, it makes it very desirable, especially in good condition.

Piximon #U5 Holo Foil Exclusive Preview

The only PSA 10 exclusive preview Digimon card is this one right here. It was graded in 2020 and hasn’t been sold anywhere since. This means, from the look of things, someone is sitting on it waiting for Digimon to pop.

Cockatrimon Exclusive Gold Prism Card

One of the most wanted Digimon cards out there is the Cockatrimon from 1999 described at RunRex.com, guttulus.com, and mtglion.com. It features not only the gold stamp but the gold prism holo effect that is a signature look for the vintage rare Digimon cards. Only 100 of these were ever printed, and only a handful have ever been graded, with the highest being a mint 9.

Selected Kids! Exclusive Gold Card (1999)

What makes this card wanted is the showcase of the original cast members from the 90s anime. Many original collectors will remember these characters so it adds nostalgic value. This card just happens to be in great condition and graded an 8, which is near mint, and from the records, this is the only 8 out there.

Meramon Exclusive Gold Card (1999)

Meramon Gold Prism card was an exclusive preview card in 1999. The exclusive preview edition contains the same cards as in the original series 1. Not many of these Meramon cards are around, especially in a PSA 8.

Tyrannomon Series 2 Gold Stamped (2000)

As discussed at RunRex.com, guttulus.com, and mtglion.com, this is one of the rarest Digimon cards that every collector wants and that is because only 100 of these were ever printed. Released in 2000 as part of the series of Trading Card Game, many old Digimon players may remember it.

Beelzemon Alternative Art

This card was released as part of the Special Booster 1.0 and 1.5, which were the first official English Digimon TCG sets and were released in January and March 2021. It features the stunning art of the popular Digimon and is highly valued in the marketplace.

Lucemon Alternate Art

Lucemon Alternate Art is part of the Great Legend booster set and is a connecting art SEC as outlined at RunRex.com, guttulus.com, and mtglion.com. The card was illustrated by renowned artist Naochika Morishita, who has worked on several Digimon artworks throughout his career.

Omnimon Zwart Defeat Alternate Art

Bandai released this card as part of the Battle of Omni set and is the most valuable card in the set. The card is not only rare, with not many of them being available in the marketplace, but it also features stunning artwork as well.

Omnimon X Anti-body

The Omnimon X Anti-body is also part of the 12 different Omnimon cards from the Battle of Omni set. As its name suggests, this card references the artwork of the old Hyper Colosseum and is already a fan favorite despite being relatively new in the market.
