1.    Your skill level

The more skilled you are, the more the number of clubs you can use. Highly skilled golfers can use more specialized clubs and even play wider shot varieties. If you are a beginner, it is advised to stick to just a few clubs that you can use to learn. 

2.    The types of swings

Your swing range can be long or short. The different swings require different clubs to obtain the correct trajectory and speed. If you find two that can serve the same purpose and offer similar results, carry one of them. Carry only those you can use. 

3.    Length of the clubs

There are long clubs, and short clubs in the entire bag and the different club lengths offer different performances. If you are working with short distances, there is no point of carrying all the long clubs. If you are playing on driving ranges, you can take the longer clubs. The highly skilled golfers can, also, work with the lower lofted clubs and carry less of the clubs with higher face loft. One of the significant factors that influence a golfer’s swing is the weight of the club, and particularly the weight of the head. Faster swing speed requires you to use clubs with heavier heads that offer you more control. Those with a slower swing speed are better off with club heads that are much lighter. When determining the clubs to carry along with you, you can carry more of the ones that resonate with your swing speed. For instance, if you have a high swing speed, take more clubs with heavier heads and less of the light headed clubs.
