How I Made 100hr as a Freelance PPC Specialist

Companies all over the world are looking to market their products and services to the world. Although most of these companies have in-house marketing departments, some of them don’t have permanent marketing staff and they therefore outsource these services from freelancers.

From a young age, I was able to identify this gap in the market and started learning PPC on my own because I realized PPC was one of the most effective marketing techniques which companies preferred to use for their marketing. In just two years, I had learnt pay per click as a marketing tool and was practising it by marketing my own services.

Five years later, I own a PPC consultancy firm and want to give you insights on how I made $100/hr as a freelance PPC specialist. These are tips on how to get started on the PPC and how you can use the acquired skills to rake in thousands of dollars per month. So, how can one make $100/hr as a freelance PPC specialist?

How I made $100/hr as a PPC Specialist

Learn the basics of PPC and understand it to the core

The first step towards any successful venture is to ensure that you have the core skills required to make it whatever field you are in. The skill needed in this case, is understanding how PPC works and how you can use it to improve a brand’s visibility and sales. So, how can you learn PPC?

There are very many courses online which you can take that will teach you about PPC and equip you with the skills that you need to make it in the market. Google provides free PPC courses which one can take but if you are looking for something more detailed which will help you understand the fundamentals of PPC even more I suggest you check out PPCHire.com. Diversify your PPC knowledge

There are very many types of PPC today. There is Google PPC, Bing PPC, Facebook PPC and even Amazon PPC. If you want to be best placed to get jobs paying more than $100/hr, you should strive as much as possible to learn all these types of PPC and have sufficient knowledge in each.

Practise makes perfect

The next step after you have learnt any skill, is to put the same into test and see how much you truly have learnt. The best way to practise PPC, is to start marketing your own services and products online. Experiment as much as possible and see how well you understand PPC.

This practise will help you to know some of the most common mistakes and how you can handle them in case you run into them when handling employment.

Identify potential clients

Once you are confident with your knowledge and PPC skills, the next step is to start identifying potential clients. PPC clients range anything from local companies to international multinational companies looking to market their services and improve their online visibility.

Pitch to the potential clients

Once you have identified about 5 potential clients, pitch your services to them and wait for their feedback. Try to present yourself to be as professional as possible in your pitching to increase your chances of getting employed.

If you present yourself well enough, out of 5 pitches, you’ll be unfortunate not to land even one client. In the event that you don’t get a client, keep pitching and you eventually will land a client to kick-start your career as a PPC specialist.

Create a portfolio of all your projects

Always ensure that you have a portfolio of all the projects that you have worked on as a freelancer. Your portfolio will speak for you when the time comes and you should ensure that it is filled with projects that prospective clients can identify with.

You can also request your past clients to give an honest review of your work and these reviews will go a long way in promoting your hustle.

Improve your rates with time

Once you have successfully handled more than 5 projects and the outcome is impressive, the next step is to start improving your rates and looking at rates such as $100/hr and so on. Just ensure that the services you are rendering are truly worth the amount that you are asking for.
