12 Things I hate About Bing Ads

12 Things I hate About Bing Ads

Bing Ads represents the second most important platform for online advertising. After Google, it offers potential clients about 20 percent of the market. Although it does have many pros like lower CPC, it does have some disadvantages. Here is what you should know about Bing Ads and why it may not be so great as prepared by Tony Guo (http://www.linkedin.com/in/tyguo/).

1.    It Has Limitations for Negative Keywords

This is one of the major drawbacks to using Bing Ads. Unlike Google, you cannot use broad match negative keywords for ad targeting. Thus, if you add a negative keyword in Bing, you must ensure that you add all other possible variations. Otherwise, you may end up incurring a huge cost for no reason.

2.    There are Limited Ad Extensions

On Google, there are extensions for almost anything. The result is that you have a lot of functionality when using the platform. On Bing, there are very few extensions. The result is that you may feel limited if you are trying to use it to grow your customer base.

3.    Limited Availability

Bing Ads is not available worldwide. Even in some countries of Western Europe, you will not find Bing Ads. The result is that it may not be a great way if you are trying to reach the entire globe. On Google, you can target almost any country on earth. It is among the major reasons why some people do not feel so confident about using this platform.

4.    Bulk Editing Only Works on PCs

Mac users cannot use the bulk editing feature. For most people, that may not be an issue. However, for the rest, it means that they have to purchase or borrow PCs when they need to use this tool. It can be quite a roadblock for Mac users when they want to optimize their campaigns on Bing. It is something you should consider if you intend to use Bing.

5.    Low Conversions

On Google, the conversion rate is quite high compared to that offered on Bing. Thus, the low CPC rates offered by Bing are essential canceled out by the low conversion rate. Unless getting traffic is your main goal, you would best consider using another platform. That way, your will get more value for money you spend.

6.    There are Few Bing Ads Experts

For a platform to work well, you need to be able to access a huge pool of experts to guide you. When you try to hire Bing Ads experts, you may end up having to pay quite a lot. The reason for this is that Bing as a platform is just not big enough to attract a huge customer base. Besides that, Bing Ads experts know that there is not much competition for their services, which means they could charge you quite a lot.

7.    There are Fewer Forums for Bing Ads

If you are trying a DIY for your online advertising needs, you will find numerous forums online that cater to your needs. However, the forums available for Bing Ads are few. Besides that, they are not as informative as those of the competition are. Thus, it might be worthwhile for you to spend time using Google ads, especially if you have little experience.

8.    Their Results are At times Off

Since they have fewer resources to develop their platform their results may sometimes be off, which can be quite frustrating to searchers. Besides that, it means that your ads may reach the people you had not intended. As a result, you may end up paying for irrelevant clicks on your ads.

9.    Bing Ads Search Engines Can Be Slow

Both Yahoo and Bing are on the Bing Ads network. However, these search engines can slow at times. The result is that it may lead to a bad user experience. Consequently, the searcher may exit a search in the middle of their search even after your ad has been displayed.

10.    The UI Times Out too Fast

The Bing Ads platform has a fast timeout rate. After ever thirty minutes without use, you will be logged out. It can be quite frustrating when you have to do it numerous times. While in older versions that did not happen, it has changed quite a lot. If you are looking for a good reason to hate Bing Ads, this is a good a reason as any.

11.    The Editor Tool Has Numerous Quirks

Although it has improved quite a lot in recent days, it still has numerous problems. For instance, when you attempt to copy an ad, you will still get an error message. It is just one of the many errors you get with the editor. Bing still has numerous kinks that need to be worked out before it can be at par with the like of Google Ads.

12.    Bing Only Appeals to a Certain Demographic

Most young people use Google. The people who use Bing are the old and those without much knowledge about the internet. For this people, they use it because it is the default browser that comes with the computer. Thus, you might want to think twice about using the platform.
